Goodman Modern Israel History Programs

Initially launched in 2006 at Camp Chi in Lake Delton, WI, the Goodman Modern Israel History Program (MIH) uses experiential learning techniques to explore Israel’s history, culture, and current events. The program, designed for middle and high school age campers, creates a new generation of Jewish leaders as it strengthens the campers’ connection and identity to the Jewish state. The programs goal is that they will be better informed supporters who can counter unfair portrayals of Israel in the classroom, on campus, in the media, and beyond. To date, the following are gifts made towards this initiative:

Camp Chi

The Foundation provided scholarships subsidizing a large portion of the cost of a trip to Israel for JCC Camp Chi campers who had spent their previous summers immersed in the Goodman Modern Israel History Program.

for the Goodman Camping Initiative for Modern Israel  History

This new initiative in partnership with the iCenter and the Foundation for Jewish Camp. enhances and expands the modern Israeli historical and cultural teachings at nonprofit independent Jewish overnight camps, forging an even greater connection between campers and the Jewish state. Twenty-four participating camps have an in-house modern Israel educator and five trained senior staff. The program is set to expand to 36 camps over a four-year period.
