EDUCATE, STRENGTHEN, INSPIRE

Since 1994, the Lillian and Larry Goodman Foundations have been contributing to a broad range of charitable organizations connected through two, interwoven themes: the preservation of the Jewish people and the protection and nurturing of children. The Foundations’ priorities reflect these themes.

Israel

Lillian and Larry were devoted to the State of Israel, believing in David Ben-Gurion’s vision that the Negev must be developed in order for Israel to achieve its full potential. To continue and further their visionary efforts, the Foundation supports organizations that focus on cultural, educational, social welfare and/or health programs, particularly in Be’er Sheva and the Negev.

Jewish, Chicago, and Beyond

The Foundations’ roots lie in Chicago and are firmly tied to the Jewish community. The Foundation supports opportunities that enhance the welfare and quality of life in Chicago and other U.S. cities.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

The Goodman family is well aware that few families are spared the pain of contending with a loved one’s struggle with mental illness and/or substance abuse. The Foundations support programs addressing these issues through research, prevention strategies, and treatment interventions.

Food Security

The Foundations support programs focused on food security and providing basic needs.
